Take Financial Stress off Your Pile of Worries

Did you know:

94% of employees worry about money

56% of employees spend 3+ hours at work per week thinking about personal finances

59% of employees say current financial worries prevent them from performing their best

1 in 10 young people said their financial problems had a negative impact on their relationship with their employer

Financial stress affects people at every income level and at every stage of life. Whether it comes from rising household costs, debt, unexpected expenses, caring responsibilities or simply trying to make money stretch further, financial worries can quietly affect our sleep, confidence, relationships, concentration and performance at work.

Yet despite being one of the most common sources of stress, money remains something many of us find difficult to talk about—particularly in the workplace.

In this practical and reassuring session, James Anthony “The Finance Fanatic”, helps us to explore how we can better understand, manage and talk about financial stress.

James will share realistic ways to regain a greater sense of control over finances, reduce the mental load associated with money worries and make more confident financial decisions. This will not be a session about judgement, complicated financial jargon or unrealistic budgeting advice. Instead, it will offer accessible, practical ideas that people can apply whatever their circumstances.

Financial stress does not stay at home when someone begins their working day. It can affect focus, productivity, absence, engagement and ultimately whether an employee feels able to remain with an organisation. James will also use the session to help managers recognise the less obvious signs that someone may be struggling and consider how thoughtful communication, workplace culture, flexibility and access to appropriate support can make a meaningful difference.

And here is the spoiler: improving financial wellbeing and employee retention is not actually about giving people a pay rise!

Attendees will leave feeling better informed, more confident about discussing money and equipped with practical actions that can help take financial stress off their pile of worries.
