In this brilliant, engaging, interactive session Emm takes the audience through the types of Deafness and them immerses the audience in the world of BSL; the language of the British Deaf Community.
You will explores what BSL is, how it is structured and how it is similar and different from English.
You’ll look at sign languages across the world, dispel some myths around Makaton and BSL - and look at the main differences of the two.
We will look further in to what we need to think about when we use BSL and when we learn to sign.
We will finish by teaching some initial Meet and Greet basic BSL phrases to take away.
